A 271-camera manufacturing estate, designed for one health view.
This is a solution design for a deployment now in preparation. It shows how a large manufacturer's mixed surveillance estate is brought into one operating view.

The challenge
The estate had grown across operational areas over time. Camera checks were scattered across recorder screens and local knowledge. A camera could be offline, degraded, or recording short without becoming a clear central incident.
The security team needed one current view of the estate, visual evidence for each failure, and a service history that did not depend on someone noticing the wrong tile.
The design
Evidence on every alert
Each actionable failure carries its start time, the failed check, and the last good picture, with the live view one click away.
Tickets and SLA timers
Every incident opens one ticket with an owner and an SLA timer, and closes with a resolved email when the camera recovers.
Picture checks
Black, covered, frozen, defocused, and moved views are raised even when the camera is still online.
Retention against the requirement
Each recorder's days of footage kept are measured against the agreed number, with shortfalls raised for action.
Camera and network health together
Camera health is read alongside the plant's network monitoring, so a switch, PoE, or link fault shows as the cause instead of a list of failed cameras.
The rollout plan

Discover
Confirm the site list, camera and recorder models, recording commitments, display needs, and operating roles.

Connect
Add each site through a small on-site appliance with outbound-only connectivity. No static IP, no port forwarding, and nothing opened inbound is required.
- 03
Baseline
Check the estate, review initial camera and recording findings, and agree what healthy means for each site.
- 04
Configure views
Set up site groups, alarm behaviour, full-screen views, and the plant's operating roles.
- 05
Validate
Prove camera failure, picture failure, site-link failure, ticket handling, recording retention, and local continuity with the operating team.
- 06
Hand over
Train operators, confirm roles and escalation, and begin monthly SLA and uptime reporting.
